Raising children is a very trying to say the least..raising four almost single handed is more so. But the shear delight is when they grow into beautiful adults, get married and the beautiful grandchildren arrive!
We have 16 grandchildren in ages ranging from 1 year to 17 years. Man oh man are they all different. Sadly, we were not able to be at each celebrating birthday. The youngest just turned two and we have seen her only once. But fell in love the moment our eyes set on her.
Love is unconditional...there are times when you would not like it that way, but it is. My heart cringes at times to see what children and grandchildren can do unknown to our hearts. I would never tell them, just pray that God will open their eyes to understanding. For he will take care of everything in HIS time.

- I come from a large Scottish family heritage. They migrated from England into Canada to Maine and other states. I am from a family of 9. Six girls and 3 boys. My dad died young when I was about 8 years old. I have 4 children and 3 step children with the great joy of 16 grandchildren. I worked in financial institutions and accounting for many years. Now I sew and make lots of stuffed animals and many other things. I'm a grandmother that after years of sewing clothing started making stuffed animals, handbags, pillowcases and more. Photography has become one of my passions over the years. Nature that God has presented us is one of the greatest to photograph. My family and pets hate to see me with a camera in my hands. The bug took hold at Christmas time taking photos of my children in front of the tree. That became a tradition. Then you have family gatherings, vacations, grandchildren and the list could go on.

For
All of our other military personnel, where ever they may
Be
Please
Support all of the troops defending our Country.
And God
Bless our Military who are protecting our Country for our
Freedom.
Thanks
To them, and their sacrifices we can celebrate the 4th of July
We must never forget who
Gets the credit for the freedoms we have, of which we should be
Eternally grateful..
I watched the flag
Pass by one day,
It fluttered in the breeze.
A young Marine
Saluted it,
And then he stood at ease..
I looked at
Him in uniform
So young, so tall, so proud,
With hair cut square
And eyes alert
He'd stand out in any crowd.
I thought how many men
Like him
Had fallen through the years.
How many died on foreign
Soil
How many mothers' tears?
How many pilots' planes
Shot down?
How many died at sea
How many foxholes were soldiers'
Graves?
No, freedom isn't free
I heard the sound of Taps
One night,
When everything was still,
I listened to the bugler
Play
And felt a sudden chill.
I wondered just how many times
That Taps had meant 'Amen,'
When a flag had draped a
Coffin.
Of a brother or a friend.
I thought of all the
Children,
Of the mothers and the wives,
Of fathers, sons and
Husbands
With interrupted lives.
I
Thought about a graveyard
At the bottom of the sea
Of unmarked graves in
Arlington.
No, freedom isn't free.
Enjoy Your Freedom
& God Bless Our Troops
When
You receive this, please stop for a moment
And
Say a
Prayer for our servicemen.
Of all the gifts you could give
A US Soldier, Prayer is the very best
One.

I Took The 30 Hubs in 30 Days Challenge!

On HubPages there is a hubber that has challenged hubbers to write 100 hub pages in 30 days or 30 hub pages in 30 days. I am taking the challenge! This will be hard for me as my thought process doesn't always function well since my major illness in 2008. But, I am going to put my best effort into this.
Come and visit me and see what I am writing. It has a lot to do with my whole life in stages.
